Welcome to McCook Wrestling Club, where we foster a love for the sport of wrestling in a fun and supportive way. Our club is dedicated to boys and girls from preschool through 8th, providing them with the skills and confidence they need to excel. We focus on teamwork, discipline, and personal growth, ensuring that every young athlete feels valued and empowered. Join us as we build champions both on and off the mat!

Meet the Coaches

McCook Wrestling Club has a great group of coaches who volunteer their time to work with the wrestlers throughout the season.

Head Coach

Skyler Kalinski

Skyler grew up in McCook and wrestled for McCook Wrestling Club and McCook High School. He has been the head coach of the wrestling club for ten years. Alongside his coaching duties, he is employed as a lineman at McCook Public Power District. He and his wife, Mackenzie, are the proud parents of three kids: Jaxx, Gracelynn, and Beauden.

Josh Brown

Josh Brown grew up in Indianola, NE. His family moved back to McCook in 2022 after living in Omaha for 15 years. He and his wife Jennifer (Esch) both graduated from Republican Valley High School and UNK. Josh works for Apple Roofing and they have four active and awesome kids, Karagynn, Kynleigh, Lincoln, and Landon.

Clay Kobza

Clay’s high school wrestling career was at Weld Central in Keenesburg, Colorado. He qualified for state 2 years of his HS career and started wrestling when he was 5 years old. Clay is married to Hayley with two kids, Tripp and Leddy.
